Location: Emerging Center at Foley Hoag the Bay Colony Corporate Center, Waltham, MARaising Money II: Government and Alternative Sources of Funding in a New Era of Fiscal Austerity
In trying to launch or grow a startup business... Do you need money but just can't find it? Where do you go to get the funding to get that critical “prototype proof-point” built when investors pretty much demand that prototype be there already in order to seriously further investment action with you?
Knowing how companies were launched, funded, and grown using alternative sources of funding, including strategic partnering, customer funded development, and government grants...without the need for VC or angel funding can be key for your own business accomplishment. Or how do you continue to fund your company’s growing customer base with working capital when the modest capital you need is not large enough for conventional capital providers or their stringent conditions deem you un-bankable?
The June 21st EntreTech Panel will focus on identifying sources of initial money from non-traditional sources when venture capital doesn’t apply, where angels won't help and friends and family are tapped out.
The panelists with experience from government, industry and entrepreneurial companies will plan to highlight how SBIRs and governmental grants, strategic partnering, corporate strategic investment, corporate venture capital, and customer funded development have been used to fund emerging and growing companies. They will review current State and Federal governmental programs and including developments in private foundations and universities.
